Beaver Scout Uniform at 91st Toronto Beaver Scout Colony
Beaver Scouts are part of a huge worldwide scouting movement, with uniforms and badges that tell a story about who we are and where we come from. Each badge on your uniform represents an important connection to Scouts across Canada and around the world!
Badges on Your Uniform
The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) Badge

This badge proudly shows that we are part of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM)—a global scouting network with 164 National Scout Organizations in 224 countries and territories.
✅ Where is it? Already sewn onto your uniform vest when you receive it!
Scouts Canada Logo & Canadian Flag

We belong to Scouts Canada, the national scouting organization for Canada!
✅ The Scouts Canada logo is on the front of your vest, so everyone knows you’re part of the Canadian scouting family.
✅ A Canadian flag badge is also on your uniform, showing where we come from!
Greater Toronto Council

Scouts Canada is divided into 20 Councils across the country to help support scouting at a local level.
Toronto has its own Greater Toronto Council because our city is so big and has so many Scouts!
✅ You will receive this badge at your Investiture Ceremony, and it belongs on the left side of your vest, under the Scouts Canada logo.
91st Toronto Scout Group

This badge proudly represents our home—the 91st Toronto Scout Group! We are sponsored by Glen Rhodes United Church, which appears on the badge.
Special fact: You get to wear two of these badges!
✅ One badge goes on the right side of your vest.
✅ The second badge is sewn onto your necker (scarf) that you receive at the Investiture Ceremony!
Lodge Patch
Our Colony sometimes forms smaller groups called Lodges to help organize activities.
✅ Each Lodge has its own special patch for identification.
✅ You will receive this badge at your Investiture Ceremony, worn on the right pocket of your vest.
Service Stripes
![]()
Beaver Scouts earn Service Stripes to mark their years in scouting!
🏅 Silver stripe – Earned for each year of membership in Scouts Canada.
🏅 Gold stripe – Earned after five years of scouting.
✅ If you start as a Beaver Scout at age 5, you will have three silver stripes by the time you Swim-Up to Cub Scouts.
Necker and Woggle
91st Toronto Scout Group Necker

Every Scout Group has a unique necker (scarf) that represents their scouting family.
Our necker is dark green with yellow trim, with our 91st Toronto Scout Group badge sewn at the point.
Only invested Beaver Scouts wear the necker—Kits do not wear them until they are officially welcomed into the Colony at the Investiture Ceremony.
No matter what section you’re in—Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, or Scouters—we all wear the same necker, symbolizing our unity and shared scouting adventure.
Beaver Scout Woggle: Wear Your "Whiskers" with Pride!
The woggle (slide) holds the necker in place, but Beaver Scouts wear theirs differently than everyone else!
To match the Beaver Scout theme, Beavers create "whiskers" by criss-crossing the ends of the necker and securing them with the woggle.
✅ All other Scouts (even Scouters) wear their necker the regular way, hanging straight down—but Beaver Scouts get to show off their unique whiskers until they Swim-Up to Cub Scouts!
Beaver Scouts Wear Their Uniform with Pride!
Your vest, necker, woggle, and badges tell the story of your scouting journey, connecting you to Beaver Scouts in Canada and across the world.
🚀 Wear your uniform proudly—it represents adventure, teamwork, and leadership, showing everyone that YOU are part of something BIG!
