Welcome to the Pack!
Cub Scouts is an exciting program for boys and girls aged 8-10 (typically Grades 3-5) that combines outdoor adventures, teamwork, and leadership development. Our Cubs explore the world around them while building confidence, independence, and lifelong skills through hands-on learning and fun challenges.

- Time: Monday evenings, 6:30-8:00 PM
- Area: Coxwell and Gerrard (Upper Beaches, Toronto)
What Makes Cub Scouts Special?
Our program is built around The Jungle theme, inspired by Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book. This creates an atmosphere of adventure and imagination where Cubs develop into confident, capable young people.

The Three Levels of Cub Scouts
Every Cub progresses through three distinct roles, each building on the last:
🏃 Runners (First Year, Age 8)
New Cubs learning the basics of Pack life
- Follow experienced Cubs and learn teamwork
- Build confidence through new activities
- Develop foundational outdoor and leadership skills
- Woggle: One set of whiskers
🕵️ Trackers (Second Year, Age 9)
Experienced Cubs who mentor newcomers
- Guide and support Runners in Pack activities
- Take on more independence in adventures
- Help Beaver Scouts discover what Cubs do
- Woggle: Two sets of whiskers
🐺 Howlers (Third Year, Age 10)
Senior Cubs who lead the Pack
- Plan meetings and lead activities
- Participate in Howler Council decision-making
- Prepare for transition to Scout Troop
- Woggle: Three sets of whiskers

The Cub Scout Promise
Cubs can choose from two versions:
Option 1: "I promise to do my best, To love and serve God, To do my duty to the King; To keep the law of the Wolf Cub Pack, And to do a good turn for somebody every day."
Option 2: "I promise to do my best, To be true to myself, To do my duty to my country; To keep the law of the Wolf Cub Pack, And to do a good turn for somebody every day."

Uniform and Appearance
Cub Scouts wear a distinctive grey uniform that represents teamwork, tradition, and belonging to the Pack.

- Cub Scout Grey Long-Sleeve Jersey Uniform Shirt (available at Scout Shop)
- Group Neckerchief (provided at Investiture Ceremony)
- Cub Scout Woggle (provided at Investiture Ceremony)

Badges (Given at Investiture)
- Group Badge (91st Toronto Scout Group) - right sleeve, top
- Council Badge (Greater Toronto Council) - left sleeve, above Scouts Canada logo

Recognition and Badges
Cubs earn various badges that celebrate their growth, skills, and achievements:
Personal Progression Badges
Earned once per year, marking development through the program:
- Runners Badge (First Year) - Learning to run with the Pack
- Trackers Badge (Second Year) - Mentoring and helping others
- Howlers Badge (Third Year) - Leading and preparing for Scouts
Outdoor Adventure Skills (OAS) Badges
Nine skill pathways with progressive stages:
- Camping, survival, and navigation
- First aid and emergency preparedness
- Paddling, hiking, and environmental stewardship
- Cubs typically complete Stages 1-2, with advanced Cubs reaching Stage 3
Personal Achievement Badges (PABs)
- 16 different badges covering various interests and skills
- Cubs set four personal goals for each badge theme
- Can be earned multiple times with new challenges
- Promotes independence and personal growth
Special Awards
Seeonee Award - The highest Cub Scout achievement
- Earned in final year before moving to Scouts
- Requires: Personal Progression Review, volunteer service hours, OAS stages, and a capstone leadership project
Religion in Life & Spirituality Awards
- Faith-based exploration with mentor guidance
- Spirituality award for non-faith community youth
World Scout Environment Award
- International recognition for environmental stewardship
- Focuses on conservation and sustainable practices
Sustainability Badges
- Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels
- Linked to UN Sustainable Development Goals
- Focus on Environment, Society, and Innovation
Language Strips
- Recognition for fluency in other languages
- Available in French, Spanish, Chinese, German, and more
Important Ceremonies
The Grand Howl
Opens and closes every meeting with Cubs gathering in a circle, chanting and howling together to reinforce teamwork and excitement.
Investiture Ceremony
New Cubs make their Promise and receive their neckerchief and woggle, officially joining the Pack. Families are invited to celebrate this milestone.
Moving Up Ceremony
Howlers transition to Scout Troop at year-end, marking their growth and readiness for new challenges and responsibilities.
How to Join
When to Join:
- New Cubs typically join in September for a full Scouting year
- Spots may be available throughout the year if space allows
Program Schedule:
- Scouting Year runs September to August
- Weekly meetings from mid-September to May/June
- Follows school schedule with breaks at Christmas and March Break
