Badges on Your Uniform - What They Mean & Where They Go
The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) Badge

✔ Connects you to Scouts in 224 countries and territories—you’re part of a global scouting family!
✔ Where is it? Already sewn onto your uniform above the right pocket when you receive it.
Scouts Canada Strip & Canadian Flag

✔ You belong to Scouts Canada, the national scouting organization!
✔ The Scouts Canada strip is above your right pocket, marking you as part of the Canadian Scouting family.
✔ The Canadian flag badge is sewn onto your left sleeve pocket, showing where you come from and your commitment to Scouting in Canada.
Greater Toronto Council

✔ Scouts Canada is divided into 20 Councils to support local Scouting.
✔ Toronto is so big, it has its own Council—Greater Toronto Council!
✔ You’ll receive this badge at your Investiture Ceremony, and it belongs on your left sleeve above the pocket.
91st Toronto Scout Group

✔ This badge represents YOUR Scout Group!
✔ You wear two of these badges:
🔹 One on your right arm, showing you’re part of 91st Toronto.
🔹 One on your necker, which you receive at Investiture
Patrol Insignia
✔ Scouts work in small teams called Patrols for activities and challenges.
✔ Each Patrol has its own insignia, showing your team identity.
✔ You’ll receive this badge at Investiture, worn on your right arm.

✔ 🏅 Gold stripe – Earned after five years in Scouts.
✔ Worn on the left sleeve near the cuff, showing your dedication to Scouting!

North Star & Seeonee Awards – Recognizing Achievement in Scouts

Scouts who earned the North Star Award in Beaver Scouts and the Seeonee Award in Cub Scouts can carry these accomplishments forward, proudly displaying them on their Scout uniform. These awards highlight dedication, leadership, and personal progression throughout their Scouting journey.
✔ The highest award earned (either North Star from Beavers or Seeonee from Cubs) is worn full-size on the right pocket, marking their top achievement before Scouts.
✔ Any additional awards are worn as mini versions on the pocket flap, ensuring all past accomplishments are recognized.
These badges celebrate a Scout’s growth, showing their commitment to Scouting values, leadership, and adventure as they progress into the Scout Section!
Outdoor Adventure Skills Badges – Displaying Your Highest Achievement
Scouts in Outdoor Adventure Skills (OAS) progress through nine skill pathways, each with nine stages, building expertise in camping, survival, and adventure skills.
✔ You wear the highest stage badge you’ve earned in each skill pathway, showing your current level of mastery.
✔ As Scouts advance through stages, they swap out lower-stage badges for their new highest-earned badge.
✔ OAS badges showcase competency in key outdoor skills, including Camping, Trail Skills, Paddling, Winter Survival, Emergency Aid, and more!
✔ Badges are worn in a square formation on the left arm, making it easy to see a Scout’s skill level at a glance.
✔ If you earned OAS badges in Cub Scouts, you can transfer the highest stage badge from your Cub uniform to your Scout uniform, continuing your progression in each skill pathway.
By wearing your highest OAS badge, you display your expertise and personal growth, preparing for even bigger challenges ahead!
Canadian Path Link Badges – Bridging the Journey Between Sections


Scouts can wear Canadian Path Link Badges to represent their transition between Scouting Sections, marking the experience and skills they've carried forward.
✔ Beaver Scouts who swim up to Cub Scouts can wear their Canadian Path Beaver Scout Link Badge to their Cub uniform.
✔ Cub Scouts who run up to Scouts can wear both their Canadian Path Cub Scout Link Badge and Canadian Path Beaver Scout Link Badge on their Scout uniform.
✔ Link Badges are worn on the left sleeve, below the Outdoor Adventure Skills (OAS) badges, ensuring a clear display of progress through the Sections.
These badges celebrate a Scout’s journey, showing the adventures, friendships, and leadership skills they've developed along the way!
Necker and Woggle
91st Toronto Scout Group Necker

✔ Each Scout Group has a unique necker—ours is dark green with yellow trim, representing unity across all Sections.
✔ Scouts receive their necker at Investiture, wearing it proudly in all adventures!
✔ Cubs who run up to Scouts continue wearing their Cub necker and woggle until their Scout Investiture Ceremony, when they receive their Scout Woggle.
Scout Woggle – Leadership Progression
✔ The woggle (slide) holds the necker in place and shows your leadership role in the Troop!
✔ Different woggles mark your level of leadership:
🔹 Scout – Plain Scout woggle, for Scouts starting their journey.
🔹 Assistant Patrol Leader – Woggle with ONE stripe, for Scouts who mentor younger members and take on responsibility.
🔹 Patrol Leader – Woggle with TWO stripes, for Scouts who guide their Patrol and lead activities.
🔹 Troop Leader – Woggle with THREE stripes, for Scouts who help lead the entire Troop!
