Cub Scout Personal Achievement Badges
Cub Scouts can challenge themselves, explore new skills, and achieve goals through Personal Achievement Badges (PABs)! These badges allow Cubs to choose activities that match their interests while following the Plan-Do-Review process.
🌟 What Are Personal Achievement Badges?
Personal Achievement Badges are designed to help Cubs develop new skills, explore hobbies, and challenge themselves at their own pace. Each badge is self-led, meaning Cubs decide on their activities and work toward completing them with guidance from leaders or family members.
These badges also encourage Cubs to set personal goals, take action, and reflect on their learning—helping them grow into confident and capable individuals!
📝 How to Earn a Personal Achievement Badge
Cubs follow the Plan-Do-Review process to complete their badge:
1️⃣ Plan: Choose a Personal Achievement Badge and set a goal!
✔ What do you want to learn?
✔ How will you challenge yourself?
✔ What steps will you take to complete the badge?
2️⃣ Do: Complete the badge activities! Cubs follow their plan, work on their chosen challenges, and learn along the way.
3️⃣ Review: Reflect on the experience! Cubs answer questions like:
✔ What did you learn?
✔ What was challenging?
✔ Would you change anything next time?
Once the Plan-Do-Review process is complete, Cubs submit their badge work to their Scouters and receive recognition for their achievements!
You can check out the Scouts Canada Personal Achievement Badges page here to explore badge ideas and design your own challenges.
📢 How to Submit Badge Work
✔ Cubs can document their work through photos, notes, or videos.
✔ They can share their progress with their Scouter in person or online.
✔ Scouters will review the work and award the badge once completed!
Earning Personal Achievement Badges is a fun way for Cubs to develop independence, curiosity, and problem-solving skills—while discovering new passions!
